Tuition for all ages between Tuition and at the Thorpe Dyslexia Centre.

Tuition

  • Each lesson is one hour on a one-to-one basis.
  • Lessons are available Monday to Friday during or after school hours.
  • The Local Education Authority’s term dates are followed for all lessons. However, extra lessons are available during the summer holidays.
  • The fee is £40 per lesson paid in advance.

Lessons are multi-sensory, including methods from:

  • Montessori Method a Practical Method of Learning – Dr Maria Montessori.
  • Step by Step The exploration of letters and words – Sue Gardner a Special Needs Teacher.
  • Phono-Graphix Method of Learning to Reading – Read America Inc.
  • A touch-typing programme – English Type Ltd.

Examples of results

  • Improved relationship with family, friends, teachers and peers. Resulting in more effective learning in school and progression to University.
  • Developing the skills and confidence to enable a school refuser to return to school.
  • Assisting home schooled students build confidence and self-learning skills to pass GCSE English and Maths.
